Privacy Policy

GeoDial does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. We have no backend database, no user accounts, and no analytics or tracking of any kind beyond anonymous page-view counts provided by Vercel Analytics.

The only data stored on your device is your theme preference (light/dark mode), saved in localStorage (web app) or chrome.storage.local (Chrome extension). This data never leaves your device.

GeoDial makes requests to the following third-party services to power its lookups. No personal data is sent to any of them:

• Local Calling Guide (localcallingguide.com): resolves area codes to cities, states, and carrier prefixes.
• Zippopotam.us (api.zippopotam.us): resolves US ZIP codes and Canadian postal codes to city and state/province.
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (nominatim.openstreetmap.org): geocodes city and state names to latitude/longitude coordinates for time zone resolution. Governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
• GeoDial API (geo-dial.com/api): our own server-side endpoint that combines Nominatim geocoding with offline IANA time zone polygon data (geo-tz) to return accurate time zone labels. No identifying information is logged.

GeoDial does not use cookies or behavioural tracking technologies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregate page-view data with no personally identifiable information. Your theme preference is stored locally on your device only.

GeoDial is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
